Greencore Qualifications are a key part of our Grow with Greencore curriculum, designed to support colleagues to progress in their career. Each Greencore Qualification has been selected to support the development needs of our colleagues, as well as the needs of the business. Each qualification is aligned to a specific role, to ensure that we are growing the critical skills needed for the future.
HR teams play an important role in identifying what skills gaps we have in each site or function. By reviewing team capability with line managers you can support the teams with identifying suitable qualifications for their team members, and ensuring the right people are on the right learning pathway.
HR teams are responsible for engaging with site/functional stakeholers to approve whether your site or function have the resource and capacity to support a colleague wanting to undertake a qualification. Before approving a colleague, you will need to ensure that the colleague has access to the support and resources needed to complete the programme successfully, whilst also considering the impact on the rest of the team before approving the request, and make sure you don’t over-commit, not forgetting those that are already studying.
We encourage you to support line managers to follow up every application for a qualification with a development conversation with the colleague to help build a development plan. Doing this supports with colleague engagement and allows us to identify any future development opportunities.
The colleague will apply via the Greencore Qualifications website, filling in an initial application form, that provides the key information required to ensure that the colleague is eligible for the learning, and meets the requirements for funding.
When the application window has closed, each HR representative will be contacted with a summary of applications. HR reps should then engage with functional/site stakeholers to ensure seek approval for the colleague to complete the qualification.
If the colleagues application is approved at a site/functional level, the application will be passed to the training provider, who will do a final validation check to ensure that the colleague is eligible and suitable for the qualification, before enrolling them to the programme.
