Our L&D qualifications are aimed at colleagues in in an L&D or training roles. We have two options;

This Level 3 Learning and Development Practitioner qualification is an 18-month programme, which provides the opportunity to gain the knowledge and experiences required to identify, create and deliver training on a day to day basis.

The Level 5 Learning and Development Partner qualification is an 18-month programme suitable for L&D colleagues who are responsible for supporting the business to deliver its strategic objectives by improving performance and  through the development of a people plan, and support and coach others in the organisation to deliver training and development interventions.

What you need to know

Our Learning and Development  qualifications consist of an 18-month programme of learning, followed by a 3-month End Point Assessment., to meet either the Level 3 Learning and Development Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard or the Level 5 Learning and Development Partner Apprenticeship Standard (equivalent to a foundation degree).

To be eligible for the programme you will need to:

  • In a role that enables you to meet the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour objectives of the programme
  • Have been employed by Greencore for a minimum of 6 months at the start of the programme, and successfully passed your probationary period
  • Have previously achieved a Level 2 English and maths qualification (equivalent to GCSE grade C or 4)
  • Have been consistently rated as ‘Doing A Good Job’ or ‘Outstanding’ in the last three Grow with Greencore check-ins
  • Not on a fixed term contract or time limited visa that is due to end before the planned end date of the programme
  • Spend at least 50% of working hours in England

These qualifications are aimed at colleagues working in a Learning and Development role.

You’ll need to be working in a role that will enable you to undertake and practice the skills, knowledge and behaviours required either as your current role or as step-up responsibilities.

The Level 3 qualification is suited to colleagues in a site based training or L&D role.

The Level 5 qualification is suited to colleagues in a Central Functions learning or training role, that works with internal and external stakeholders, and are responsible for influencing strategic learning and development activity that supports the business goals.

Please note, applications will be reviewed against your current role profile, before being reviewed by our HR Leadership Team, and therefore, you may be offered a place on an alternative programme.

 Ideally, you will have achieved a GCSE grade 4/C or higher in maths and/or English (or equivalent). As part of your application, you will be assessed to understand your current working level of maths and English, and will have the opportunity to complete these qualifications in alongside this qualification.

  • About our Partners

  • How is the course delivered?

    This qualification will be delivered virtually, through a combination of e-learning, webinars, online live workshops, tutorials and guided study.

    At the end of the course, you will undertake an End Point Assessment (EPA). This will include a combination of assessment methods to validate your learning, including a portfolio of work-based activities, in addition to a formal assessment of your knowledge through a test, a project and structured interview or professional discussion.

  • How will I be assessed?

    Throughout the programme you will complete assignments and tasks relating to each study module.

    You will also be required to complete a work-based evidence portfolio to demonstrates your competence against the skills required, and tracks your learning hours.

    The End Point Assessment will include:

  • Where will training take place?

    Knowledge study will take place virtually.

    Off the job time will be taken through a combination of activities, including study blocks, online learning and practical activities in the workplace. The total off the job time required for the HR Support qualification is 348 hours, and 418 hours for the People Professional Qualification.

  • When will the qualification start?

    Enrolments will take place within three months of your application being approved.

    Enrolments will be assigned based on site/functional business needs and capacity on each cohort.

  • What does the application process look like?

    Once you’ve applied, your eligibility for the programme will be assessed based on your application form. You’ll then be invited to attend a Spotlight Session to find out more about the qualification, and give you the opportunity to ask questions.

    We’ll then confirm your application with your Line Manager, and to check that your role meets the requirements of the learning objectives of the qualification.

    We’ll then ask HR teams to review all applicants as a function/site, to ensure that they are supportive of the application, and have the resources and capacity to ensure success on the programme.

    If approved, details of next steps and enrolment details will be sent to you.
